Who is responsible for your data

What we collect and why
- Free sheet. If you ask for the free sheet we collect your email address and use it to send you the sheet. We do not use it for anything else and we do not sell it. Legal basis: it is needed to carry out your request.
- Emails you send us. If you write to hello@captainmattaviation.com we use your message and address to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.
- Cookies and analytics. This site stores your cookie choice in your browser so it can remember it (essential). If you click Accept on the cookie notice, it also loads Google Analytics, which counts visits and shows which books people look at. IP addresses are anonymised and nothing is used for advertising. If you click Decline, no analytics are loaded. Legal basis: your consent. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Who receives your data
- Our email service provider, MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, 88 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, D02 DK18, Ireland), which handles the sending of emails on our behalf. It may process data outside the EU, in which case it relies on standard contractual clauses.
- Our website host, Hostinger International Ltd. (Cyprus), which stores the site and its server logs.
- Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), for analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies. Google may transfer data outside the EU under its own safeguards.
Links to other sites
Amazon, Books2Read / Draft2Digital, Etsy, YouTube and Instagram have their own privacy policies. When you click a link, their rules apply.
How long we keep it
Your email address for the free sheet: for as long as needed to deliver it and handle any problem, and no more than 12 months unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Messages you send us: 12 months after the last exchange. Analytics data: according to the retention setting in our Google Analytics account.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, delete or move your data, restrict or object to its use, and withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@captainmattaviation.com. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
